Road Trip Tip - a Lasting Memories page

Hey friends! Today a new challenge theme begins at Lasting Memories - Transportation!

Here is my page about cars - it's my boys on a recent road trip.

My road trip tip is to stop for bathroom breaks at donut stores! Two birds with one stone - you get to use the bathroom and you get to eat a donut on vacation!

I also happened to be driving and glance down when I hit the big 88888!

They look like good donuts to me!

I hope you will come play along with us at  Lasting Memories this month!

Thanks for looking!

Believe in Mermaids - a Momenta page

Hey friends! I've got a new, summery page for you today, inspired by the lovely products by Momenta.

I wanted this selfie to be super beachy, so I used tinted glitter paste for waves atop the Momenta watercolor cardstock.

These Spiegel Mom Scraps sequins were perfect for my beachy theme.

I tinted half of this Momenta wood veneer sticker with a pink gelato to compliment the rest of the title I cut with the alpha die from Momenta.

I added glitter paste to the tails of the little mermaid beauties because we all know mermaids sparkle!

I die cut a few other sea creatures from glitter cardstock as homemade embellishments.

Momenta has so many nautical and tropical themed products for your summer scrapbooks!

Aren't these puffy stickers the cutest?! Go grab some of these great products for your beach themed layouts. The dies are so versatile with endless page possibilities.

Hola Mamacita - a LM page

Hey friends! Today is the last challenge I created for a month of scrapping YOUR story at Lasting Memories, and I am loving all the participation! I cannot wait to see what you all come up with for the last challenge.

Today's challenge is to scrap YOUR favorite! You can scrap a page about your favorite hobby, food, trips, movie, book, anything that YOU love. I want to hear a story about it and why you love it!

I scrapped about my love for TACOS (what else?) and I adore how the page turned out!

One of our favorite restaurants is called Taco Mamacita, and it was about time I documented it. I thought the fun, llama paper pad from DCWV would a fun way to document tacos. And I LOVE this taco stamp from Ink Road Stamps - you can change the faces!

MMMMM tacos.  I colored the stamped tacos to match the DCWV papers.

I journaled a little about the place and visiting a new location. I love these tiny taco stickers I found at Michaels recently.

I cut the title from a 6x6 paper pad. Since it's obviously longer than 6 inches, I just split the word in half and glued it together, one can barely notice!

The subtitle says "the only woman who can come between me and my man" LOL!

Here I used the negative space from the die cutting for the title as an extra embellishment element & I LOVE it! I'll do more of this.

But really tho - go getcha some tacos here if you live near one. Street corn off the cob is your side, it should be the only option. Deliciousness!

One last plea to play along with our challenge! I hope you will tell some of your own important stories, your scrapbooks should definitely include YOU.

Play along at Lasting Memories!

Rock Your Notebook - Helen GA

Hey friends!

I have a flip through of my recent traveler's notebook I created for a weekend trip I took with my dudes. You can find the full flip through video on my YouTube channel.

You can find your own, custom travelers notebooks in the Rock Your Notebook store. They are such a great way to document your little travel stories & house your paper ephemera from your trip.

Here are a few of my favorite parts of the TN.

I love this galaxy cover from Rock Your Notebook!

I got the cardstock standard size travelers notebook, and the pages are super thick and great for scrapbooking. There is no bleed through of ink, and the pages will hold plenty of layers of ephemera.

Tilt ins are a great way to show ephemera, I always put a few rolls of washi in my travel craft  bag.

Some pages didn't require too much journaling, so they are more decorative.

I did complete this page at home, not on the go, but I did do a good portion of the scrapping on the road! I was glad to get to do some of my favorite photos justice by scrapping them at home with the use of my die cut machine

Check out my video of the entire mini album/travelers notebook, and go grab your own custom notebook from Rock Your Notebook!

Throwback Sunday? - a LM page

Hey friends!

I have another challenge over at Lasting Memories to get YOU into your scrapbook! Today the challenge to tell a throwback story from your glory days!

I chose this Prom photos of these BABIES from 2003. I told the story about how this prom date, as friends, was the start of everything. Now we are married 10 years this year, and going strong!

This page went through some transformation from where it began, but I do enjoy the end result! I like how the black stitching and black alphas bring the different sections of the page together in the middle.

I used a couple of my new Ink Road Stamps for this page, and typed my journaling, which complemented the hello paper well.

A few sequins from Spiegel Mom Scraps tied the colors together well from the top to the bottom.

I am super into the Missy Whidden effect of tearing some edges off papers and adding some interesting to the sides. I tucked some sequins in here after I sewed with my black thread.

I backed the photo with a fun tag filled with confetti that matched this Paige Evans paper. I love how the corals match my dress! I loved that dress so much. I don't have a super great memory, one reason I love scrapbooking, but I remember so many details about that night! It was definitely a special one, and I"m glad I got this beginning point of our story down.

I hope you will join us for the Lasting Memories challenge this week! I cannot wait to see your glory days photos & stories!

Thanks for looking!

The J-O-B - a Lasting Memories page

Happy Sunday, friends!

Today we have another fun prompt over at Lasting Memories for our month of telling YOUR story. Today's prompt is to scrapbook about your job, an old job, your dream job, anything about your work.

This is actually a page I've been meaning to do for a really long time, so I figured if I created the prompt I would have to do it! Many times people tell us their jobs and we really have no idea what they do in the day-to-day activities of those jobs. So, I think it's a super idea to journal your specifics for the future generations.

Here is my page:

I thought the WRMK Urban Chic collection was perfect for this page, since my office is downtown & when I go there it's the only day of the week I'm guaranteed to put on make up LOL!

I just received my Ink Road Stamps Snarks & Recreation stamp set, so obviously some Lesley Knope quotes are perfection for my page about my government job!

I changed out my machine thread to black & I'm loving it!

I also used this sweet sequin set from Spiegal Mom Scraps to add some texture and interest to my page.

While it's not the most exciting of pages, I'm glad I finally got this story down! I hope you'll join us over at the Lasting Memories blog, as well as the rest of the selfie challenges this month! I cannot wait to see what everyone creates!

Thanks for looking!!

You Make My Heart Go Boom - a Momenta page

Hey friends!

I wanted to make sure everyone was inspired for our American Independence Day holiday, so I'm bringing you a fun, firework page created with Momenta products today!

I used the star fish dies from Momenta in a patriotic way. I die cut some beautiful pages from my favorite paper company, Pink Paislee. I gessoed the background of this embossed Kraft to brighten it up, and sewed the stars in a firework pattern.

This glitter arrow is also from a Momenta puffy sticker pack & went perfectly with the glitter alphas in my title.

Then I added the wood grain Momenta stars with gold accents to tie the page together. And we can't forget the splatters!

This star tab is a pull for a hidden journaling card that documents the story of this layout of my hubs and me on the 4th of July.

I used felt around the edges of my layered photo to pop up the picture, which left room for a journaling card without messing up the aesthetic of the page.

The entire title says "You make my heart go BOOM."

To add interest, I ripped small sections from the border and backed the openings with patterned PP paper and some embellishments. I love how it turned out!

This is the back side of my pull our journaling card. It's a super simple way to make sure you tell your story while not interrupting the artistic flow of a page. The embossed paper didn't lend well to journaling on the layout, or I wouldn't have been opposed to writing on the page.

Repeating a die cut is one of my favorite ways to create a page with an impact. It really is easy to do, but makes a big statement!

Supplies:
Star Die - Momenta
Wood Stars - Momenta
Gold Arrow - Momenta
Patterned paper - Pink Paislee Sweet Freedom
Navy Puffy Alpha - Fancy Pants
Red Puffy Alpha - Studio Calico
Navy block alpha - Illustrated Faith
Gold Alpha - MAMBI
Gold Stars - Studio  Calico
Star Stamp - Studio Calico
# Stamp - Heidi Swapp
Embossed Kraft - Bazzill

Selfie Adventure - a Lasting Memories page

I hope you will all play along with my challenges this month at Lasting Memories!

I have designed my challenges to focus on YOU & telling your story. I feel that too often scrapbookers leave themselves out of the albums. Your pages should be filled with your memories and things about you which future generations would love to know. I hope this month of prompts will get you started on that journey if you're not already telling your story.

Today's prompt is to scrap a selfie and tell a story about YOU.

I chose EIGHT selfies for my page - what?! I rarely scrap selfies of just me, but clearly I'm taking them. I looked through my selfies and saw a theme of my love for adventures. I took that theme for my page & scrapped about the types of adventures I enjoy most.

You can find my process video on my YouTube channel. I kept it short and sweet, but more details are below. Please comment here or there with any questions, and I'll be happy to answer!

I chose this loud floral paper I have loved since I bought it from a Project Life paper pack. This cut file I got free from Ali Edwards a while ago was perfect, and I"m about using up my favorite black puffy alpha from Studio Calico.

While peeing in the woods isn't really my favorite type of adventure, I felt this photo just shows I'm up for almost anything when it comes to an adventure, LOL!

These floral dies from Momenta perfectly complimented my favorite floral paper! I always love a good leaf die cut, we know.

Also I definitely had a recent Missy Whidden layout in mind when I created this photo line. You can see the inspiration piece here.

The back side of the floral  paper was too cute and coordinating, I had to show a bit! An we all know my page isn't complete without some sparkle - today, sequins.

I added the yellow label to make my alphas stick out  better, and I'm so glad I did, I love how it turned out. Although I may be the only person in the world distressing the crisp edges of Elle's studio labels, but I gotta do me.

Supplies:
Paper - Becky Higgin's Project Life
Cut file - Ali Edwards
Puffy alphas - Studio Calico
Floral dies - Momenta
Twine - Recollections
Typing - WRMK typecast

I truly hope so many of you play along with this challenge anytime during this month! Tag me on the socials, and I cannot wait to see what you create!
