Fun @ the Farm - LM #384

Hey friends!

I am here today with another page for a Lasting Memories new month of challenges. March was named for the Roman god, Mars. Mars was the god of War and an agricultural guardian. This week's challenge is to create a page about war or a page about agriculture.

I pulled out some photos from last year when we visited a friend's farm & completed my first pocket page in while & it felt good!

I used a fun WRMK 6x6 pad called Shine for most of the cards & ephemera from Pink Fresh.

I love letting Snapchat filters tell some of my story for me!

I found some coordinating green cardstock & ran it through my big shot with my favorite wood grain embossing folder. I'm loving this green and navy combo!

I used some greenery I had cut for another project with some of the Pink Fresh ephemera. This collection is called Escape the Ordinary &  I received it in a Wild Hare Kit at the Scrapgal's retreat. Definitely my style!

We had a good family day this day, which came at a sad time for our extended family, so it was nice to scrap the happy part of that particular time.

Anyone else's kids obsessed with goats?

Mine LOVE them. lol Goat videos all day long if they could.

Don't let the little one fool you, the snacking was much preferred over the fishing.

I hope you have been inspired to create a fun, thematic page this week based upon MARS! I cannot wait to see what you all make.

Check my instagram for supplies.

Reckless abandon - a LM challenge

Happy Sunday, friends!

Today I'm bringing you another Color me Happy layout from Lasting Memories challenge. I have been on a roll creating white background 8.5x11 layouts, so I decided to stick with that style for an entire album of beach layouts from our last beach vacation. I'm really happy with how today's layout turned out.

Here's the mood board from which I drew inspiration:

I used papers from Pink Paislee's Citrus Bliss collection - they're one of my favorite companies and this is one of my favorite collections! I'm a sucker for kelly green these days. It's always been one of my favorite colors.

I used Recollections shimmer watercolor crayons  and some alcohol packaging technique to creat the yellow background. Then I stamped with a lemon stamp and made some green splatters with another watercolor crayon and alcohol.

I wanted a big title to convey how much FUN we had this day. It was probably one of the best days of our lives so far. It was glorious and perfectly tempered. We just played in nature and enjoyed one another and I almost tear up just thinking about it. I know it's just a first of many to come - it's one of the first, if not the actual first trip the 4 of us have taken together without any other company.

I had a poll going on my Instagram stories about sequins being the new enamel dots, but there actually some who don't agree?! I'm aghast! Haha

It's always nice when a die cut you've been saving turns out to work perfectly on your page! This little "be grateful" bit was the perfect shade of yellow and sentiment for such a great memory.

I'm so glad God blessed me by being his Mommy! My sweet, fun-loving, adventurous, gorgeous boy who cooperated with my seemingly endless photo taking in exchange for  jumping cold cold waves this day!

I hope you will all go over to Lasting Memories and play along with this week's green and yellow challenge. It's a unique color board, and I love it! I can't wait to see what you make.

Thanks for looking!

High Tides & Good Vibes - an IRS layout

Hey hey hey - another twice on Sunday blog post here again!

Today I'm over on on the Ink Road stamps blog with a bright, sunny layout to combat this rainy, cold February day in Tennessee.

I used the super fun Full Circle stamp set to create this bold beach layout & it was SO fun!

You can read more details over at The Ink Road & see more fun photos of this layout. Don't the patterns have such a fun, Saved by the Bell vibe? Hahha That was my JAM when I was a kid.

Go check out the versatility of these great stamps!!!

We're all Mad here - a LM challenge

Hey Friends!

Today I'm highlighting a page I created for the Lasting Memories Color me Happy challenge for the week using purples!

I have been wanting to create a layout with these teacup ride photos for a while & the purple challenge was perfect! But then I realized - I don't have many purple supplies!?

So I used some purple inks and a purple watercolor crayon with some alcohol spray & created a fun, sparkly purple schmear. Then I used my Cricut to cut an Alice in Wonderland image from the purple paper & I LOVE how it turned out! I will definitely be using this technique again.

I used some new Tim Holtz gears thinlit dies I got for $5 (what?!) to cut some patterned purple paper and dispersed them among the page.

Here's the mood board to get your purple ideas flowing:

Purple is the "color of the year," so I do believe we will see more collections embracing it. I really was surprised at the lack of purple in my rather large stash!

I journaled about how sometimes you just gotta be the fun mom & take your boy for a midnight ride on the teacups! This little memory was definitely a story I wanted to get down.

I topped the page off with some Clearsnap kisses in this beautiful dark purple color.

I hope you will play along with us over at Lasting Memories this week! I cannot wait to see the purple creations everyone will do!

Fave Ride - a LM challenge

Hey Friends!

Happy Sunday!

Today I have a layout for you using this week's challenge over at Lasting Memories - a color challenge to use reds and pinks!

Here's the color board for the challenge:

I only used the red and the lighter pink, since I don't have much opportunity to scrap with pink, but I had these Disney photos beggin for  scrap.

The number washi tape represents how many times we rode my son's favorite ride - 1, 4, 10 times? Many times!

That a was a d and that e was a cursive z, my friends - alter your stash for use!

I used some great acrylic stars from Color Cast Designs to add some depth to my page - they're so cute!

I added a small foam dot at the end of my label to keep it popped up like the photo. I love how this quick little 6x8 page turned out, y'all!

I hope you will play along with us at Lasting Memories. It's a perfect time to create those LOVE layouts with pinks and reds.

Supplies:
Polka dot paper & ride stickers - Simples Stories, Say cheese
Acrylic starts - Color Cast Designs
Thichers - American Crafts
Pink and black papers - Studio Calico
