Throwin' it back

Hey hey hey!

Today I'm bringing you a layout I created for the last day of the SMS iNSD challenges. This one was created for my friend Ali's challenge to do a throwback layout.

You can also see a time lapse of my process to create this page. Please let me know how yall feel about the time lapse/videos without sound versus the videos that explain the process! I'm not sure which are more what people enjoy.

I found these sweet photos of my husband at Disneyworld, about the same age as my oldest is right now, and I had to create a layout with them! I adore the color pallette and the sweet baby smiles.

I used a Felicity Jane kit we got at a Scrap Gals retreat and added in some Simple Stories.

I added some star sequins to the banner to tie into the star theme I had going on.

I love mixed fonts for my title. I find it hard to just use one at this point in time!

I also can't seem to make a page without mixed media these days. Which is so funny because not that long ago I thought I couldn't do mixed media because I wasn't patient enough to wait for it to dry. I was recently looking at my 2015 scrapbook and thinking how far along my designs have come. I definitely think that some of that is owed to mixed media!

These SMS challenges also inspired a couple of other pages I have posted on Instagram lately.

This page was created for the "back it up" challenge to use multiple shapes on the background:

Annnd I threw in a little sarcasm! LOL

This page was created for their grab 5 challenge to use stamps, flair, sequins, paper and die cuts:

My jam for sure! I'm working on trying to get my vacation album from our cruise last May finished!

One FINEapple - a Lasting memories challenge

Hey hey hey, friends!

I'm over on the Lasting Memories blog with the team today for the month's last shape challenge using circles!

I really love how this page turned out. I have a "silent" process video on it also, over at my YouTube channel. I had a problem with the voiceover feature and technology beat me this time LOL, but the process video is fairly self-explanatory without a voiceover. Please comment here or on the video with any questions at all!

I really enjoyed using the different circles and textures on the page, and I will very likely be using this same design again. Using different colors and themes, it could be quite versatile!

You can see in the video I worked hard to get this title exactly as I envisioned!  I added the borders to give pause in the reading, and I love how it came out!

These photos were taken exactly a year ago, and that sweet baby face has grown so much, it's heartbreaking! He's still cute as a button though!

I love adding texture to my layouts. I did that on this page by roughing up paper edges, sewing with thread and twine, and adding the texture paste.

I hope you will play along with the challenge over at Lasting Memories, and I would really appreciate a thumbs up over on my YouTube video, as I'm trying to make this more of a constant in my creating process.

The House Saga - Rock Your Notebook

Hey friends!

Today I'm Rockin' my Notebook again in one of Beth's standard size inserts from the Rock Your Notebook store.

I had a few photos to tell a bigger story that didn't warrant a traditional scrapbook page, so it went into my monthly insert, but I wanted the photos combined, so I created a fold out page in my travler's notebook.

The process was super simple! I just trimmed a 12x12 sheet to the height of the TN page (a bit shorter actually), and then scored some lines the width of the TN page. I think folded, and you could fold either way dending on how you would like the page to open. I adhered one side of the sheet to the TN page for sturdiness.

If you wanted even more of a fold out, you could tip in the folded scrapbook paper with some washi tape.

I like how the double sided paper included more interest in the extended spread.

I even did a to be continue story over into my next monthly insert, so I included this spread toward the end of my February insert.

Neon Man Card - Scrap the Boys

Hey friends!

Today I'm bringing you a card I did using the mood board at Scrap the Boys. My son also wanted to create a card using the mood board! He kept gasping and giggling as he was creating it, enjoying how it was coming out. It was adorable!

We didn't have exactly the right colors for the mood board in paper, so we inked ups some white cardstock, and it worked perfectly!

We were definitely inspired by the leaves and the bright blues and green. The tropical feel was great too.

Heath loved creating the die cuts with my Big Shot.

I'm putting sequins on a card, I don't care who ya are.

I think I will definnitely be using this color pallette again for a scrapbook page - I love it!

Soul Shine - a Lasting Memories page

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope you're having a blessed day! The two boys that made me a mother inspired my page today which I created for this week's Variety of Shapes challenge at Lasting Memories to use triangles.

I created a scrapbook process video for this page, please find it at my YouTube channel & give it a thumbs up if you enjoy it!

Since I walk through how I created the page in the video, I won't go into much detail here, but here are some close ups!

Thanks for looking & I hope you will play along!

Fratastic! - an IRS layout

Hey hey hey & Happy Monday!

I hope you'll check out today's Ink Road Stamps blog and see the layout I created about my  boys.

You may know that I refer to them as mini frat boys sometimes. I swear it's like living in a frat house with them! They stumble around like little drunks, leave messes in their wake and are crazy loud! Some of the Ink Road Stamps were just too perfect to document this story.

Hope over there to see the details and read more about it, as well as grab some of your own IRS sets!

The 14th of Feb - a LM page

Hey friends!

We have a fun challenge shaping  up for you over at the Lasting Memories page, and this week's focus is on hearts!

All you have to do is create a page with hearts. Here is my inspiration:

I did this spread about this year's Valentine's day in my travelers notebook from Rock Your Notebook.

This Illustrated Faith paper was perfect! I stenciled some matching hearts on the opposite page with my ink blenders.

I love this super quick way to document our everyday moments.

But really those cookies tho - bahahaha! Oooops. The kids never knew, I'm sure.

My boys loved their donuts and "pink" milk. I just popped a couple coordinating stickers and some thickers on and the page came together so quickly!.

I hope you will join us in our challenge this week at Lasting Memories!
