Birthday mini album - in a Traveler's Notebook!

And there's that old Monday again ...

But I hope to brighten your day with a little project today, a mini scrapbook of my son's first birthday photos in a Traveler's Notebook. Creating this project was so fun, quick and easy! If you're looking for a quick little book that can be completed in one setting - here ya go!

Partial paper sheets or 6x6 pads work great for these projects, along with washi tape & fun embellishments.

I used some project life cards here and stamps are another great thing to use in your TN!

I embossed those balloons with stamps and fussy cut them to match the photo. It was a fun little project.

A Buzz Birthday - Part I

Today we have a series of pages from my son's 3rd Buzz Lightyear Birthday party. I'm calling it part one because I have the photos and big ideas for other pages, but they're not yet complete!

I wanted to keep this page simple because I just love the sweet look of Heath's face blowing out the candles, so I wanted that to be the focus. I used the glitter star cake toppers as part of my page to mirror the photos.

I also created a couple of pocket pages to document the decorations at the party. I feel like I spent a good amount of party planning making all these little details, so I'm really glad they were documented. I was 3 days away from giving birth at this party, so I was glad any of it happened!

Buzz was fun, but the little dude is now already planning a TMNT party! Ha - not sure if he realizes he will forevermore have to share his party with his little brother - they were born 3 years and 1 day apart!

Stop & Smell the Roses - a Process Tutorial

So I'm not sure if this is really a tutorial, but I'm going to show, in photos, the process I took while creating this page recently:

So I got my February Studio Calico Kit & I LOVED the paper with roses and polka dots. I loved the combination so much, so I didn't want to just cut off the roses and lose the polka dots.

But when I placed my photo backing paper where I wanted it, I was not impressed with the way it covered my roses!

So, I had an idea! Why not cut around the blooms to overlap my photo/backing paper?

And I did it! I tucked my little gold hearts (another very very favorite paper in that kit) behind my xactoed (that's a word, right?) roses & boom - perfection!

I was very happy with the finished project.

Happy 90th Birthday!

I am really trying to push through my scrapbooking here - I need to get caught up! Scrapbook sketches really help me do it when I'm not feeling my most creative trying to come up with a new layout.

I did a double page spread for my great-grandmother's 90th birthday with a sketch from My Creative Sketches. I also think all would agree that 90 is a milestone! So it goes well with the weekly challenge over at Studio Calico.

Here is the scrapbook layout using the sketch, which I rotated.

(we all about died at the look the babe on the left end is giving my granny's sister-in-law and the look she is giving him back! haha! guess that's what you get when trying to get a group picture of so many.)

I mustache you to party!

So I happened upon these adorable mustache stickers the other day at Hobby Lobby & they inspired today's Throwback Thursday layout post!

For my sweet boy's first birthday party we had a Mustache Bash & the colors were red and black, so these adorable Mambi stickers were just screaming to be used for the occasion!

I made the "polaroid" in Cricut Design Studio. The title says "Fun on his 1st" and I used a cute glittery pocket card to cut those letters and the candle to go with the glittery theme of the stickers. I love how it turned out and & loved reminiscing my sweet little one year old! (Also, please excuse the red arrows at the bottom of the invitation. They're not really there. They're just hiding phone numbers!)

The party was so fun - it was at our church, and we had over 80 people there! He is such a lovable little boy. I've already started planning his 3rd party in November (which will hopefully be accomplished just a few days before the arrival of baby Lachlan) & Buzz Lightyear will be the theme!
