Lil Stinker - a Stuck?! sketch

I'm definitely not caught up on 2016 or anything, but I'm trying to stay fairly up-to-date in 2017 too, so today's page has super recent photos of my little guy from this week!

I used a wonderful sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.

Here's the original sketch, which I rotated:

I was reflecting today, and I thought that this time last year, I probably would not have added any of the mixed media elements I put on this page. It's nice to evolve your style.

I inked the rim of  a plastic cup and the rim of my shine top for the circles, and I splattered some blue, Heidi Swapp shine.

I used some orange tulle to add some texture behind my photo row, then layered circles.

I used papers from a Heidi Swapp paper pad I found the other day at Tuesday Morning. These American Crafts Thickers I had in my stash just happened to go quite well with the HS paper.

I fussy cut some bits from the paper pad and used some puffy Studio Calico stickers from my stash.

I inked all the bits with navy blue and added a few rain dotes & boom done. It was a fair quick little page & I had a lot of fun creating it. I always love Laura's sketches from Stuck?!

Art of Animation - a pocket page

Happy Hump Day!

Today I'm bringing you a rainbow themed pocket page documenting our stay at the Art of Animation resort at Walt Disneyworld. I loved making my other rainbow projects recently, so can't stop won't stop!

The colors in my photos were very bright and energetic, so a rainbow theme worked so well. I kept the backgrounds of the cards bright white to balance the page, and I did a white border around each photo.

I love scouring Instagram for inspiration, and I definitely used two cool techniques I've seen on there recently. I borrowed the letters over the photo idea from @ScrappySarah & stamp within a stamp idea from @gjoysy.

I put a tiny piece of washi on my card before I stamped my large letters, then removed it to reveal white space within which I stamped my smaller alphas,

I'm loving the clear stickers in the new Say Cheese III collection by Simple Stories! That's the white sticker on the top right corner photo.

I mean who doesn't want to shower under the sea?! I used up all my As on my Hakuna Matata - good thing I found another pack of those Amy Tan thickers at TM!

The tabs behind the top photo are rainbow washi folded over, and used as pull tabs for an additional photo that didn't fit on the layout. I like the fun, interactive element, especially for a photo that isn't spectacular which I don't mind hiding.

I loved making this fun, bright, rainbow page! I also really enjoyed using more stamps in my scrapbook.

Wish Upon a Star - my first Process video!

Hey, friends!

Today I'm really excited to bring to you the first process video I've ever made! I faced my fears and some dislikes I have, and I created a process video of a page I made for my Disneyworld scrapbook. I used some mixed media & created a sketch.

Please be honest with your feedback. Let me know ways to make my videos better, if you like them, if they're useful, any anything else you may want to see!

Since my photo was dark, I wanted to accent with silver and stars. I did a bright white background to offset the dark photo.

I used Heidi Swapp texture paste with a stencil that mimics the Epcot Spaceship Earth sphere.

I also stamped strars with black & did yellow Heidi Swapp shine splatters to accent the side papers.

I adhered the sequins with foam dots to pop them off the page a bit.

The black paper & clear photo stickers are from the wonderful new Simple Stories Say Cheese III collection!

February 2017 Daisydori YT flip through

Still with the butterflies ... a MTW challenge

It's a rough Monday after springing forward, but I have a little something to brighten your day, I hope!

Today I'm bringing you the layout I created for the More Than Words March challenge to use the word beautiful and a butterfly on your layout.

I just really adore how this all turned out!

This year marks 14 years as a couple & this man can still give me butterflies. 

I found this lovely pack of Prima butterflies at Tuesday Morning a while back, before this challenge was posted, actually. So when I saw the prompt, I knew they would be perfect.

Luckily the color scheme ended up working well with this photo I made him pose for last Sunday, which he laughed and called, "stupid," but he did it!

I chose a fun paper with orange and yellow flowers, gessoed it, stenciled small polka dots & used Heidi Swapp shine in Salmon. I also threw a little black shimmery Tattered Angels on there too.

I stamped a couple of small butterflies in black ink.

I layered my photo with oranges, and broke that up with a small black and gold doily and some white lacey Heidi Swapp paper I found on clearance a while back. I love that stuff!

I used my cricut to cut the gold parts of the title out of metallic paper, and to create the "typewriter" look - which I will do a bit smaller next time.

I also embossed a few Maya Road chipboard pieces in gold to tie that color theme together as well.

I had picked up these black paper straws on clearance, so they tied the black color theme together well and gave good dimension to the layout.

I continued the title down my MM stream, as it was so long. Then I scattered the Prima butterflies around the page.

I think this may be my prettiest MM layout to date, since I began with the art earlier this year. I love it!

1 great birthday! - A Lasting Memories layout

Hello, friends!

Today we have a new challenge for the week over at Lasting Memories & I really hope you join us.

The challenge is to use lots of numbers on your layout - and make it birthday layout, if you have birthday photos available!

My friends and I went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter on my birthday last year & it was a blast!

I used more of my stamps from The Ink Road for the numbers to countdown my photos.

I back my photos with some of my favorite washi tapes. In the first photo we met Stan, the driver of the Knight Bus!

The middle photo is us modeling the HP shirts I made with my Cricut :)

These HP themed papers are from a Reminisce collection called Wizarding 101.

It was a super fun trip!

My Bear Cubs - A Stuck?! sketch

Happy weekend, friends!

Today I'm bringing a layout of my two little bear cubs that I created with a wonderful sketch from Stuck?!

My parents bought my boys matching bear cub jammies & they had a litttle photos shoot in them one evening haha.

Here's the original sketch:

When I first saw it, I immediately thought it would be great for my Disneyworld scrapbook. However, I had these 3 little cub photos & it just worked out. But don't be surprised if this sketch pops up again in a bit using my new Say Cheese III collection and some Disphotos.

I brought out the red for the pjs, and some plaid for the coziness (and because I adore this Hampton Art bear stamp!)

I matted my page with constellation paper because jammies are worn at night and all. I used a zigzag stitch on my machine to border the page with red wooly twine, another cozy element.

The green paper was a scrap circle I had, and added a 3rd accessorizing color into my layout.

I was blessed to win an amazing prize of The Ink Road's newest stamp collection, and this little adorbs stamp is one of the **many** that sweet Lara, the owner, sent to me.

I had a lot of fun creating this page. These boogers have grown so much since last May when the photos were taken <>. I wish I could keep them little.

Also, side note. I recently purged my papers, and I had a pack of Kraft with Christmas patterns that I will likely not use anymore. Howevever, I had no problem turning the page over to the blank side to use on this layout - keep that in mind for your tired papers with white backs as well!

Instructions for a Good Life

Today I'm bringing you a layout I recently made that maybe be one of my top 5 favorite layouts I have ever created!

I have always loved rainbows & when I looked at this Fancy Pants Life is Beautiful collection, it just called to me to create a rainbow inspired layout.

I love a black and white photo with a rainbow layout, so they don't clash. This is a photo of my son at the top of a cliff we climbed earlier this year. I thought since it looks as though he is contemplating life, the layout should include some life advice!

Those puffy clouds were too adorable & had to accent my photo at the top of the world!

I cut out the go from some cork paper, and used my stamp ink to color it in two tones to match the patterned papers.

I sewed a border around the layout and periodically added in thread in colors that corresponded with the rainbow paper pattern.

I did two tone inks on the wood veneer as well.

{Please ignore that pesky green puffy dot sticker which appears to have migrated to the yellow portion of the page - it has since been reprimanded & relocated!}

Wildflowers - Spring decor

I'm really feeling the Spring vibes these days, and today I'm bringing you a new home decor project for the season.

I used the Fancy Pants Millie & June and Life is Beautiful collections to create this little sign with 3d flowers.

You belong with the Wildflowers!

I really enjoyed creating the small flowers, they are cut by the Cricut in spirals, then inked & rolled - it's amazing! Haha!

The larger flowers were cut, then the edges inked & rolled for a 3d effect.

I put a little bit of eyelash thread in the large flowers for some added texture. There go those puffy alphas again too! Seriously - cannot get enough!

A Bushel & a Peck

Happy Hump Day!

Today I'm bringing you a layout I created with the Fancy Pants Millie & June collection!

I love using really girly paper some times! It was perfect for this photo of my mom and me on a getaway to Chattanooga last year on Mother's Day weekend.

A bushel & a peck is a song my Mom used to sing to me when I was little, so it was a sweet title for our Mother's Day together.

I cannot get enough puffy letters these days! I love that the Millie & June included NAVY! So pretty! I combined them with some gold glitter Thickers & some small pink glitter stash alphas.

I fussy cut the hearts from another page in this FP collection, and used some foam dots to make them pop!

I love this navy trend I continue to see lately, and I wanted to bring out the navy flowers in the background paper. So, I cut lots of small flowers and vines with my cricut & let them be a small, 3d element around the border.

This MOM puffy sticker from the collection was PERFECT for my page!

I like to make some bits rise off the page, so I lifted the edges of the sewn photo background in addition to the flower bits around the border. I also showed a bit of the other side of the paper because it matches so well & is just too darn cute, so I kept it popped up with some pink staples.

A Nature pocket page

Sorry I haven't posted in a week - doesn't mean I haven't crafted!

The Design Team season is upon us, and I'm very carefully and strategically ensuring I am creating for or curating the best possible resume for each team to which I'm applying and juggling their due dates!

Today's page I created for the current Feed Your Craft DT call. I used flair & stamps with existing pocket pages, and created a few of my own.

I really love how the colors turned out, considering I used items from 3 or 4 different collections/companies!

This page documents a walk I took in January when I was off work for MLK day. I had to use this funny quote I saw the other day because it is so true - we basically had no winter at all.

I really love this little triangle, or as I like to think of it - Mountain, card! Unfortunately I don't know if I got it at the Studio Calico sale or if it is Hip Kit Club. I'm thinking the latter.

I used flair from My Mind's Eye - I'm loving that muted red/maroon color lately. I hope this coffee photo is highlight, and I think the eye is drawn there first, as it's my favorite.

This was a super fun page to create mixing all these colors together & keeping it light and bright to accent the crazy colorful winter we're having.

Keep your fingers crossed for me that it may be good enough for the FYC DT!
