I have a new little process video for you today on the YT channel. I created this layout using a prompt for the June challenges in the Paper Issues FB group called "What's Going Down?" The challenge was to focus all attention on the bottom of the page.
I did some mixed media with spray and then texture paste at the bottom of the page. Then I cut different strips from the 6x6 paper pad
I distressed the edges and inked with navy blue and cohesion, and for that rustic look I love.
You know I gotta add my sparkle! I also used the puffy stickers from the Outfitters collection, and some Jolee's travel badges from my stash.
It definitely focuses down!

Today I'm bringing you a page I created for this week's prompt over at Lasting Memories - to use at least 5 patterned papers on your layout.
I created this layout for my Disneyworld scrapbook. I'm not sure what my block is, but I cannot seem to use the typical "Disney" papers on my Animal Kingdom pages. I tend to want to use darker, travel, antique and tribal papers.
I know that these dark colors are not what is currently on trend, but in 10 years no one will know! I just like to create what comes to me from the photo & these colors and themes of papers definitely enhance my photo of my son at the Animal Kingdom. I used some white Heidi Swapp shine to brighten and interest the background cardstock.
So the story is that Heath was disappointed we had fast passes to Everest & he couldn't ride. He was right at 40 inches, and you have to be 44 to ride Everest. I wanted to take his photo by these cool doors in the area of the ride, but he was pouting, so it turned out so sad! I posted it on my Instagram as "this is the face of 40 inches," and it was a hit. Poor kid. He will be tall enough the next time we go!
I picked out the papers to match the photo, then used the turquoise in the photo layering to make it pop. I used cork as well, so I picked some cork numbers to tie to the layering. Today I'm really excited to bring to you the first process video I've ever made! I faced my fears and some dislikes I have, and I created a process video of a page I made for my Disneyworld scrapbook. I used some mixed media & created a sketch.

Since my photo was dark, I wanted to accent with silver and stars. I did a bright white background to offset the dark photo.
I used Heidi Swapp texture paste with a stencil that mimics the Epcot Spaceship Earth sphere.
I also stamped strars with black & did yellow Heidi Swapp shine splatters to accent the side papers.
I adhered the sequins with foam dots to pop them off the page a bit.
The black paper & clear photo stickers are from the wonderful new Simple Stories Say Cheese III collection!
